Snow/Wind Day Policy
1. If Lake Washington School District has a late start, we always cancel morning preschool classes, Bluebird and Frogs. (Listen to radio, news or go online for information regarding late starts, or closures.)
2. If Lake Washington School District cancels the entire day, we will also cancel all of our classes, morning and afternoon.
3. If during the school day weather conditions change, we may determine that an early pickup is necessary and we will contact you by phone.
4. If you become concerned during the school day, you may decide to pick up your child at any time.
What did you do in school today?
Do you often ask that question and get the answer "Nothing" or "I don't know?" That is actually a normal response for a Preschooler. The reasons for a response such as this can be because they lack the vocabulary or it may be difficult for them to recall details. When asked a general question they may simply not know how to respond. Ask specific questions, such as, "Tell me how you made this picture?" or "What was your job today?" or "What was your Bible story about?" Keep your monthly school calendar handy so that you can jog their memory. Don't get discouraged if even after asking specific questions your young child is still unable to tell you anything specific. Be patient. As your child matures they will be able to recall more and more.
Library News
The school library is in full use and it is great to see the enthusiasm the children have towards checking out books. Please supervise the check-out process with your child. Check to see that the book cards are placed in the correct tray and a date slip into the book pocket Remember that we need to be able to read your child’s name as well!
Food Drive
Each year at this time we have a food drive. Our theme is: I can with our friend, Sam, the ‘Can-Do’ toucan. Many of our students have never participated in this type of giving. We encourage you to allow your child to select a nonperishable food item that they think a child would enjoy eating from home or the store to bring to class. The food will be used to help feed young families in our own congregation as well as the community food. Thank you so very much.

Thanksgiving Thoughts
Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on our blessings, share the gifts we have with those in need and spend time with those we love. Families need to be encouraged to create traditions that will help strengthen their faith. Here are some suggestions to involve your young children:
For Mother-love
and Father-care,
For brother strong
and sister fair,
For love at home
and here each day,
For guidance lest we go astray,
Father in Heaven,
We thank thee.
Happy Thanksgiving Day,
From your Preschool Staff
