What can you expect on your first visit with us?

Sunday Morning Worship

The first thing you will notice is plenty of parking. When you turn off of 90th Street onto the road that is west of the church, you parallel the building which leads to a spacious paved parking lot in the back. The back is actually the entrance to the church.

When entering the church, expect to be treated like family. There will be greeters outside at the entrance to the foyer who will greet you with a smile and answer any questions. If you need childcare during the worship service, they can show you where to go. If you need a hearing device, one will be provided. Dress is varied at Rose Hill, but mostly casual.

Entering the sanctuary you will be greeted again and given a bulletin. The bulletin has the printed order for worship and contains inserts on current happenings at the church. We sing a variety of music. We enjoy the old hymns and Gospel tunes from our hardbound book, The Hymnal, blended with contemporary songs from either our softbound book, The Joyful Sounds, or from those printed in the bulletin. As is the case in reformed worship, the words to the songs are what’s most important. Depending on the Sunday, you may hear the 25+ member choir singing, one of two Bell choirs or a brass quartet playing, either a piano or organ solo (we have a Balcom & Vaughn pipe organ), or any number of soloists singing a special piece of music. In the middle of the service we have a time when we pass a “Friendship Pad” down the aisle asking you to sign your name and note who else is sitting in your aisle so that you can greet them after worship. Should you also provide your address and phone number, we then send out a welcome letter to you within the week and phone you. Our monthly newsletter and a brochure that tells you who we are and what we believe are available by asking an usher.

On the third Sunday of every month we have a coffee, juice and cookies time after worship in the Social Hall. It’s always well attended and gives you an opportunity to meet the members and guests.

We look forward to meeting you!
